Position Overview

This role is responsible for articulating a clear, compelling, multi-year vision that aims to cultivate a vibrant, Christ-centered community where residents and guests experience genuine fellowship and connection. 

Key Responsibilities

• Own, develop, maintain and refine a multi-year strategic plan that sets clear priorities, measurable goals, and developmental milestones for enriching community life and fellowship, that references: “How will Asbury Grove foster greater community engagement, inclusive recreational activities, and genuine fellowship in the years ahead.” 

• Strengthen fellowship, inter-generational connection, hospitality, and mutual care among cottage residents and visitors

• Explore and develop appropriate external networking and partnership opportunities.

• At least annually, assess the needs and demographics of the community to anticipate future opportunities and challenges

• Partner with the AG Board, and other AG committees so as to align strategic plans and long-term resourcing

• Lead a team —set direction, providing alignment of a multi-year strategic plan and identify, mentor and develop future Community Life leaders

• Establish meaningful metrics that track engagement, and the effectiveness of programs in strengthening Community 

Skills Required

• Demonstrated leadership experience with an ability to develop strategic plans and oversee their implementation

• Expertise in designing, coordinating, and evaluating inclusive, multi-generational activities that foster genuine fellowship, belonging, and connection

• Skills in scheduling, resource allocation, and creating both structured programs and informal opportunities for connection

• Strong interpersonal, facilitation, communication, mentoring and ability to identify future leaders
