Growth for the Next Generation Pillar Leader

Position Summary

This role is responsible for articulating a clear, compelling, multi-year strategic plan and direction that prepares the way for children, youth, young families, and future generations to encounter God and grow in faith within the Grove community. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own, develop, maintain and refine a multi-year strategic plan that strengthens youth and family programs, leadership development among youth, and local church youth affiliations that references: “How will Asbury Grove intentionally prepare children, youth, young families, and future generations to encounter God in the years ahead?” 

  • Design, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate discipleship, engagement and recreational initiatives that help youth experience God’s presence, form lasting faith, and develop a sense of belonging in the Grove

  • Build and strengthen strategic relationships with local churches and explore ways to collaborate in shared ministry opportunities

  • At least annually, assess the needs of children, youth, and young families, and Grove demographics to anticipate future opportunities and challenges 

  • Partner closely with the AG Board and related AG committees so as to align strategic plans and long-term resourcing

  • Lead a team —set direction, providing alignment of a multi-year strategic plan 

  • Establish meaningful metrics that track engagement, spiritual growth, leadership development, and long-term fruitfulness among children, youth, and families over multi-year periods

Skills Required 

  • A strong relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear sense of calling to invest in the spiritual lives of children, youth, and young families. 

  • Proven ability to think and plan, develop and implement multi-year strategic plan for next-generation ministry 

  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, communication, mentoring and ability to identify future leaders. 

  • Experience in camp, retreat, or multi-generational Christian community settings. 

  • Background in youth leadership development or church partnership strategies.
