Spiritual Life and Faith Pillar Leader
Position Summary
This role is responsible for articulating a clear, compelling, multi-year strategic plan that will shape the long-term spiritual vitality of the Grove, and that fosters a vibrant Christ-centered community where people grow in faith and encounter God.
Key Responsibilities
Own, develop, maintain and refine a multi-year strategic plan that sets clear priorities, measurable goals, and developmental milestones for spiritual life at the Grove that references: “What should spiritual life at Asbury Grove look like in the future?”
Strengthen and expand opportunities for worship, Bible study, prayer, discipleship, and personal spiritual growth for residents and guests of all ages.
Explore and develop appropriate external networking and partnership opportunities with churches, ministry organizations, and denominational resources that enrich spiritual life at the Grove.
At least annually, assess the community spiritual health, and Grove demographics to anticipate future needs and opportunities
Explore and develop off-season/winter programs to build continuity into the spiritual life of the Grove
Actively identify, mentor, and empower emerging spiritual leaders within the community to build a visible leadership pipeline.
Partner with the AG Board and related AG committees so as to align strategic plans and long-term resourcing
Lead a team —set direction, providing alignment of a multi-year strategic plan
Establish meaningful metrics that track spiritual growth and program effectiveness over multi-year periods
Skills Required
A mature, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear sense of calling to foster spiritual vitality in a community
Experience in pastoral ministry, spiritual formation, discipleship, worship leadership, Christian education, or related fields
Strong biblical and theological grounding with the ability to articulate a compelling picture of a vibrant Christian community
Experience casting vision and working with boards, committees, and volunteer-led organizations
Strong interpersonal, facilitation, communication, mentoring and ability to identify future leaders
Ability to collaborate with external parties and promote the Grove e.g. with local churches and Christian institutions
