Sustainability & Organizational Excellence Pillar Leader

Position Summary

This role is responsible for articulating a clear, compelling, multi-year strategic plan and direction that ensures the long-term financial, operational, and organizational health of the Grove. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own, develop, maintain and refine a multi-year strategic plan that champions a forward-looking plan that addresses financial sustainability, operational excellence, organizational effectiveness, facility and resource stewardship, and continuous improvement referencing: “What must Asbury Grove become organizationally and operationally so it can thrive for the next generation?”

  • Regularly assess financial health, resource capacity, operational systems, facility conditions, and organizational culture to anticipate future needs and risks.

  • Set up procedures to ensure operational excellence, efficiency, and continuous improvement among the decision-making teams

  • Partner with the AG Board and other AG committees so as to align strategic plans and long-term resourcing

  • Coach committee chairs, staff, and volunteers so they can execute day-to-day functions 

  • Lead a team —set direction, providing alignment of a multi-year strategic plan

  • Establish meaningful metrics that track financial health, operational performance, resource utilization, and organizational effectiveness

Skills Required

  • Proven ability to develop and implement multi-year strategic plans for organizational sustainability, financial health, or operational excellence.

  • Leading through influence—particularly with boards, committees, and volunteer-led or nonprofit structures.

  • Strong understanding of financial management, operational systems, or organizational development.

  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, analytical, communication skills, mentoring and ability to identify future leaders.

  • Ability to balance practical stewardship with the spiritual purpose of the Grove.
